The Libyan airlines (LN) is the national air carrier of Libya.

 Established in October 1964 and launched its services in 1965.

 In 2006 was renamed to (the Libyan Airlines) – (formerly was: the Libyan Arab airlines) and it is a member of IATA, AACO and AFRAA.

 

Currently provides both passenger and cargo transportation to 30 destinations in Libya, North Africa, Middle East and Europe with a fleet of ten aircrafts plus another fifteen purchased and pending delivery.

 

These fifteen aircrafts from Airbus are as follows: Four A350, Four A330 and seven A320.

 

In 2007: 885,000 passengers (40% local flights); 2008: 950,000 passengers and in 2009 988,000 passengers – (4% growth).

 

In 2008 both the Libyan airlines and Afriqiyah airways were merged in management under the Libyan African Airlines holding Co (LAAHCO) which was established to improve the quality of the Air transportation in Libya…
